India lifted U-19 World Cup trophy for the record fourth time after beating Australia by eight wickets in the final. The final of the U-19 World Cup were played between India and Australia at B oval stadium of New Zealand.
India played tremendously well throughout the tournament. Manjoot Kalra emerged as the hero in the final as he played the brilliant knock of 102* not out. He also get the man of the match award for his match winning knock. Australia were dismissed for 216 runs in 47.2 overs. Ishan Porel, Shiva Singh and Anukul Roy done brilliant job with the ball and picked up two wickets each for India.
At presentation ceremony Indian skipper Prithvi Shaw said “All credit to our support staff, they’ve really been supporting us for the last two years. And full credit to the guys as well. Rahul sir is a legend,”. He added “It was the final, a very crucial hundred from Manjot. Two pacers, Mavi and Kamlesh, who’ve been excellent throughout the tournament. Thanks for all the support from India. Great memories here. We’re looking forward to going back,”.
After winning the world cup team india got good news from BCCI, as BCCI announced rewards for the team as well as support staff. BCCI will give 50 lacs to the coach Rahul Gandhi , 30-30 lacs to the each player and 20-20 lacs to the support staff. Shubman Gill get the man of the series award for his performance throughout the tournament, In his five innings he made three fifties along with a century.
Some of the Indian player of U-19 team will play in the upcoming IPL.
