After facing Bengalureans wrath, BBMP makes faulty contractor’s list public
Bengaluru: In an interesting development Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) made the names of faulty contractors with all their details public. Now Bengalureans can report all road complaints directly to the contractors.
The initiative made by BBMP after the deadline of 14 days given by CM Siddaramaiah to fill all the potholes. Earlier several death was reported on the roads of Bengaluru because of dangerous potholes which caused civilians to stage protest against the government.
The potholes on roads have claimed at least five lives in the last couple of days which made Bengalureans angry.
The 400km long road of Bengaluru comes under the responsibility of several contractors and making their phone number with the respective engineer’s details will allow public to enquire their queries directly from the contractors.
The BBMP rules make contractors liable to maintain roads and repair potholes for next three years from the date of building the road.
Meanwhile, the BBMP has claimed that 12,592 out of 24,661 potholes have already been fixed.
