Delhi Police Filed Charge Sheet Against AIADMK leader Dhinakaran

Delhi police filed charge sheet against AIADMK leader Dhinakaran under Sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), and 201 (destruction of evidence) of the Indian Penal Code.
He is accused of corruption and conspiracy in a case related to poll symbol allocation by the Election Commission.
Additional Sessions Judge Kiran Bansal is likely to look into the matter on December 21. Dhinakaran’s
long-time friend Mallikarjuna, Sukesh Chandrashekhar, and six others have been named as accused in the charge sheet.
The charge sheet filed by police in July didn’t name Dhinakaran as accused. However, in the latest development, Delhi Police has now named Dhinakaran as accused of trying to bribe Election Commission officials regarding party symbol for an AIADMK faction led by his aunt VK Sasikala.
Other accused were charged with criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery and destruction of evidence under the IPC and other provisions of the PC Act.
Police said a criminal conspiracy was hatched by Chandrashekhar, Dhinakaran, and others to bribe Election
Commission officials. The money recovered from Chandrashekhar was sent by Dhinakaran through illegal channels with the help of others, police said.
Recently on 4th Of December, Delhi High Court had declined to give any interim relief to the TTV faction of the AIADMK and dismissed its plea.
The main petition will be heard on February 12, as directed by the court.
