Do not Breathe in Delhi – NCR
From last few days Delhi – NCR is under the dense blanket of smog
which has created a situation of ‘Health emergency’. The heavy smog in
the union territory leads to delay in flights and rearrangement in train’s
schedule. Delhi government has also ordered to shut down schools in the
city.
Indian Medical Association (IMA) directs Delhi Deputy CM Manish
Sisodia to make sure primary school is being shut down for at least a
week. According to Experts pollution level has increased 30 times higher
than the safe level directed by W.H.O
Deputy Chief Minister In his statement he urges people that “Kindly
avoid morning and evening walk.” We also issued an advisory to school’s
regarding measures which will be useful to tackle Smog,” he added.
National Green Tribunal expressed its concern over the ‘gas chamber
situation in Delhi. NGT is very upset and angry with Delhi government
and its officials on the measures to tackle health emergency situation.
NGT lashes out at CM Arvind Kejriwal, municipal corporations and
asked them to address the situation through which people are going.
NGT further asked Delhi government to show what steps they are taking
to curb pollution.
Delhi government led by Arvind Kejriwal yesterday announced the
return of odd-even policy which will be applicable from 13 to 17
November 2017. This will be the third time when the odd-even policy
will hit the streets of Delhi.
However, Central Pollution Control Board questioned this step of Delhi
government. The CPCB said that there is no need for this kind of step
since the air quality has started improving. The Board also predicted that
condition will be under control by Saturday.
