Right Wings Booked For Drive Against ‘Love Jihad’

On Monday in Karnataka’s Udupi several leaders and activist of different right wings were booked under several IPC acts for illegally running “Awareness campaign against Love Jihad”.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Durga Vahini and Bajrang Dal were came together to distribute pamphlets reading – “Awareness campaign against Love Jihad”. They were doing it on national highway without any permission from district administration which forced officials to take the possible action against them.

Case is registered against forty leaders of different right wings namely Surendra Koteshwar and Padma Ratnakar of Durga Vahini ,Vilas Nayak, Sunil KR, Santosh Suvarna, Dinesh Shetty and Lokesh Shettigar from the Bajrang Dal, Dinesh Mendon, of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

While speaking to Daijiworld, assistant police sub-inspector of the station, Narayan said “When questioned, they said they had organized awareness campaign against Love Jihad for the benefit of male and female students. They were questioned about permission obtained for organizing this programme. they answered in the negative,”.

According to police leaders of the right wings illegally assembled on national highway 169A and obstructed movement of people and vehicles for one hour.

During the past few months various cases of relationships between a Hindu woman and a Muslim man comes in the limelight. Right wings used to project as ‘Love-Jihad’ cases but in the most of the cases girl independently chooses their man and they said we are happy to be married with them.
