A Message From Anti Sterlite Movement

What we witnessed in Thoothukudi (Tuticorin) for last two days is a state-sponsored massacre for the benefit of M/S Vedanta Resources. Mr. Anil Agarwal, a close aide of the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, owns this plant in this coastal town. For the last 100 days, the locals were protesting for shutting down the plant in a Gandhian way, although the issue dates back to two decades. The plant emits hazardous substances, which in turn has created, serious life-threatening ailments and diseases for the local people. In the name of development, an entire town is taken as guinea pigs. Till now, no one took responsibility for giving the firing order inside the Government of Tamilnadu. The State kills its own people is the blatant truth.

The police specifically started targetting the organizers and killed six of them. Of the total 13 & odd state-sponsored murders, which incl. a 17-year-old girl. The state, police and the media try to paint the innocent locals as ‘extremists’. As usual, the saffron troll army in social media celebrates this as ‘an elimination of anti-social elements’. Some extreme voices among the Sangh Parivar go onto say that this is a ‘Christian missionary conspiracy’. The truth is, the plant will make the surrounding into a deadly uninhabitable place by constantly throwing poisonous molecules in the open air. The place will become unlivable even in a decade.

The Tamil media ‘was asked’ not to report any of this. As of this writing, the internet is blocked in three districts in and around Thoothukudi. This may extend to the entire state. This, in a nutshell, is the true story of what is currently happening in Tamilnadu.
