“Strengthening Special Strategic Partnership between India and South Korea: Prospects and Challenges”

12th RASK International Seminar held at University of Delhi

Researchers’ Association for the Study of Korea held its 12th International seminar on “Strengthening Special Strategic Partnership between India and South Korea: Prospects and Challenges” on 26th and 27th of October, 2018 and released its book entitled “Act East: Transitions in India’s Engagement with South Korea” edited by Professor Sushila Narshimhan and Professor Kim Do Young. More than 40 research scholars and faculties from various discipline of various universities and Institutions presented their research papers on issues related to South Korea and India and of other East Asian countries. This International Seminar included 7 sessions of different subjects such as International Relations, Economy and Trade, International Security, Education and Literature, History and Religion, Society and Culture and Environment. In inaugural session of the seminar, Dr. Shin Bongkil, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to India and Mr. Skand Tayal, former Ambassador of India to South Korea highlighted the major economic and diplomatic achievements and efforts of these two countries done in recent years. Further, they said that in today’s world a strong diplomatic and economic relation between these two countries is an urgent need to balance the power in Asian region. Prof. Kang Kyongson. Honorary Professor of Law, Korea National Open University, ROK delivered key note address and kept his views on “Constitution as a National Survival Strategies.” Professor Kim Do Young, President of RASK and Director of Korean Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia University highlighted the major events and achievements of RASK and said that how RASK has evolved as one of the most dynamic platforms among research Scholars to present their research works on issues related to India and South Korea.
