New Delhi : On Thursday morning the court room at Delhi’s Patiala House Court was jam packed as it was the hearing on 2G scam case by CBI judge OP Saini. In the sensational 2G case CBI judge OP Saini read the 2000-page order and pronounced that due to the lack of evidence all the 17 accused including former Telecom Minster A Raja and DMK MP Kanimozhi is acquitted of all the charges.
Reacting to the judgment outside the court, Kanimozhi said, “Finally our innocence has been proved. I will not deliberately target anyone but there was a conspiracy and a lot of people had a hand in this. It wasn’t very easy. You are being accused of something you haven’t done and corruption charges are the worst. It means a lot for DMK because corruption has been used as a peg to slam our party.”
Soon after the declaration there were waves of joy in the supporters of A Raja and DMK MP Kanimozhi who gathered outside the court premises in Delhi. Party workers in Chennai also celebrated in same way and burst crackers, distributed sweets outside the residences of Stalin and Kanimozhi.
The judgment taking rounds in the streets of politics as well. Congress taking this as badge of honour.
Former PM Manmohan Singh said the 2G scam was a massive propaganda against the UPA without any proof. Former Telecom Minister and senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal said, “This verdict is both a moral and legal victory for the Congress Party. We will take this issue up in Parliament.”
Well, the allegations will continue but the matter of concern is If A Raja Is Not Then Who Is Responsible For The loss of Rs 1,76,379 crore.
